The Journey: A Lifetime on the Tools
1993 – 2007: The Foundation of Hard Work
My career started at the Alberta Beach Mini-Golf, push-mowing 3 acres of parkland for my parents. By age 11, I was sweeping sidewalks and taking out empties at the local hotel, eventually landing a mowing job for $5/hour. In a defining early deal, I bartered three years of labor for my first riding mower—a move that allowed me to scale my residential business to 70 weekly lawns while attending University.
Even as I grew, my commitment to the community never wavered; I still maintain three of those original residential lawns today.
2003 – 2007: Leadership and Discipline
Whether serving as Captain of the MacEwan Griffins Volleyball team or working the deck of the Tallship Soren Larsen in the South Pacific, I learned that a successful project depends on leadership and team cohesion. I developed the personal skills to lead crews and the discipline to ensure every safety detail and operational need is accounted for.

2007 – 2023: Building Alberta’s Infrastructure
The afternoon I finished my final University exam in 2007, I was on-site for my first concrete pour under my first company, Goodfellas Concrete. Over the next 15 years, I founded, merged, and grew a portfolio of specialized firms:
- Blacktop Paving: After merging in 2009, we scaled from 12 to 120 employees, executing high-profile contracts for the Edmonton Valley Zoo, Edmonton International Airport, and EPCOR Genesee.
- Stone Concrete Cutting & Coring: Founded in 2010 to provide specialized technical services.
- Goodfellas Property Maintenance: Launched in 2011 to bridge the gap between construction and long-term care.
- Backside Tours: Acquired in 2013, allowing me to apply my operational logic to the tourism and hospitality sector.
- Aspen Asphalt: Founded in 2016, where we partnered with major contractors like Park Paving to complete essential municipal roadways for the City of Edmonton.
In every venture, I wasn’t just in the office; I was on the tools and in the sales division, ensuring the project delivered exactly what was promised.
The Return: Why NexDor?
After selling my construction interests in 2023 to focus on my two young children, I’ve returned to the work that started it all. NexDor Services is the culmination of this 30-year journey.
I’m back in the field because I believe property owners deserve a partner who understands both the budget and the build. I don’t believe in “patchwork” solutions; I believe in strong morals, business ethics, and the value of a long-term relationship.
The NexDor Advantage
Deep Local Roots: I’ve been a fixture in the Alberta Beach and Edmonton regions for three decades. My reputation is my most valuable asset.
The CFO’s Perspective: I relate to project managers because I understand the pressure of a budget. I find the balance between financial efficiency and operational excellence.
Accountability: I am present from the first handshake to the final walkthrough. I make sure the project is completed exactly the way it was sold.
